Revenue Minister cant allot a cent of land: Dharmana
Hyderabad, April 15 (CNST): The Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana
Prasada Rao made news saying that a revenue minister had no powers to allot
a cent of land and that the lands were allotted during the former chief
minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as per the decisions taken by the Cabinet.
It may be recalled that the R and B Minister Prasada Rao, who was revenue
minister under YSR, was grilled by the central investigating agency CBI for
his alleged involvement in the allotment of lands to several companies
including Vanpic from 2004 to 2009 who had invested in the Jagan owned
companies under a quid pro quo arrangement which resulted in heavy losses
to the State.
Dharmana Prasada Rao was among the six ministers who was served with the
Supreme Court notices for issue of 26 controversial government orders under
the captaincy of YSR. Prasada Rao said that he would depose before the CBI
again and cooperate with them as a responsible minister if necessary. He
attended a programme under praja patham welfare scheme at Srikakulam zilla
parishad hall today. He also reviewed the works under the praja patham.
