Assam: High alert after blasts before PM's visit

Guwahati (CNST), Apr.20: Assam has beenput on high alert and extra security has been deployed ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's one-day visit. Two blasts rocked the state on Thursday evening just hours aheadof the Prime Minister's visit. The Prime Minister will be in Guwahati to inaugurate the platinum jubilee celebration of the Assam Assembly. The Home Ministry has asked the state to keep a strict vigilas intelligence hints at lowintensity blasts by insurgents. The anti-talks faction of the ULFA has called a 12-hour bandh protestingagainst the Prime Minister's visit. Earlier on Thursday, two separate blasts rocked Assam.
