Aarushi case: SC refuses to hear Nupur's plea
New Delhi (CNST/IBNLive), Apr.12: The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to hear Nupur Talwar's plea on the non-bailable warrant against her and said it willhear the plea on Friday. The Talwars' lawyer said that Nupur Talwar will appear in court on Friday.
However, Nupur Talwar has been absconding so far, according to sources.CBI sources added that Rajesh Talwar's location was also unknown.
Sources in the CBI also said that they have the liberty of arresting NupurTalwar outside Supreme Court if she appears for hearing on Friday.
The CBI also carried out raids in south and centralDelhi in search of Nupur. The CBI has already contacted all the close relatives of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. Sources say they haven't revealed anything about Nupur's whereabouts.
Nupur Talwar failed to appear before a special CBI court on Wednesday despite a deadline given to her, following which theCBI asked the court to issue a warrant against her. The CBI team that went to arrest Nupur Talwar returned empty handed on Wednesday. She was not at home. A Ghaziabad court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Nupur fornot appearing before it.
Aarushi's father Dr Rajesh Talwar was present in court for the hearing on Wednesday. He is still on a conditional bail till May 7.
CBI Counsel RK Saini said,"She was supposed to appear within 30 days and she didn't. That's whythe court issued a warrant against her."
Rajesh Talwar and his wife Nupur have been accused by the CBI of being involved in the murder of their teenaged daughter Aarushi in May 2008.
Aarushi, 14, was found dead inside her Noida residence in May, 2008 with her throat slit and the body of the Talwars' domestic servant Hemraj was recovered from the terrace hours later.
An outcry against the shoddy investigation by Uttar Pradesh police had led to the then Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh handing over thecase to the CBI.
